Battle and Robertsbridge District.

Battle and Robertsbridge District was formed in 1969 and meetings were originally held in committee members houses and outings taken in committee members cars. Over the years the membership has expanded and now stands at 40 active and 16 non-active members. Active members enjoy monthly outings for lunch or tea escorted by the committee members in especially adapted coaches (which have a tailgate lift) and 2008 venues have included several visits to Eastbourne as well as more local destinations. All active and non active members receive the Aware magazine from ESDA and non-active members are contacted annually by designated committee members to offer assistance if required.

8 December Ashburnham Place Lunch

** We are the chosen charity of Catsfield WI who do not make a charge for our tea. Accordingly there will not be a charge for members at that meeting but we plan to hold a bumper raffle so you may wish to buy more tickets than usual.

We will be visiting two new venues this year and nearer the time of each outing Carol will contact you with details of pick-up times.

We are delighted to be able to hold the charge to £8 per outing this year especially as we have changed one of the outings from an afternoon tea to an extra lunch. Holding the charge to £8 is due in part to the generosity of the members, some of whom make donations as well as rounding up on meal costs. The committee are extremely grateful in this respect as coach hire costs continue to rise year on year and these extra funds supplement our own fund raising efforts.

Best wishes,
