DELTA

DELTA (Disabled, Enabled, Living, Through, Ability) have their own website, which you can visit by going to www.deltadisability.com.

Information about how ESDA work with DELTA can be found here DELTA.

Formed in 1997 as a social group for men and women with disabilities, our friends at DELTA are based in the Lewes area and meet regularly to have a chat, a 'cuppa' and also to hear an interesting talk by various speakers. Outings are also arranged regularly to local venues and, of course, we have parties (one in the summer, one at Christmas).

A number of events are held each month. On the 1st Wednesday, DELTA provides a shopping bus to a local town such as Eastbourne, Brighton, Tunbridge Wells or Crawley.

Social meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday between 12 noon and 3 pm in Ringmer Village Hall, where interesting talks are given, games played and other social activities pursued.

The 3rd Thursday is reserved for outings to various attractions across the South-East. To complete the month, on the 4th Thursday DELTA meets for New Age Kurling at Ringmer Village Hall between 12 noon and 3 pm.

Annual Membership is £10. At meetings, a charge of £3 for subs and £2 for lunch (if provided) is made towards club expenses. A raffle is also held. For outings, a nominal charge of £5 is made.

All members live in the Lewes District and Surrounding Area.

The Aims of DELTA are:

  • Mutual support
  • Friendship
  • Enjoyment

We Raise funds for the support of the group:

  • To have Outings
  • To provide a monthly shopping bus
  • To run the group ourselves with the help of carers when required
  • To gain knowledge on the current help available for disabled people.
