Pevensey and Westham

Open Gardens in Pevensey Bay were enjoyed by many on Sat 4th July

The Pevensey & Westham local group for people with disabilities has been out and about since the last Pump issue.

In February we visited Battle and the All our Yesterdays museum. The staff were very friendly and the museum extremely accessible with lifts to all floors. A very interesting venue and one thoroughly recommended.

In March we visited the Blue Reef Aquarium. This has recently been refurbished but unfortunately it was not finished when we visited and although the sea life aquarium was very interesting it was not accessible. Hopefully things will improve there.

In April we had our Annual General Meeting with fish n chip lunch and afterwards a drive along Eastbourne seafront and Beachy Head.

In May we met for lunch at the Inn on the Park in Deanland off the Dicker. After lunch the group were taken on a Mystery Tour!!

In July our Head Office in Eastbourne  organised a 70 mile walk around East Sussex and came through Pevensey & Westham on Thursday 17th July on the way to Battle on the 1066 route.  In July we had two outings, one extra outing on a Saturday to Hailsham Grange to view their Open Garden this was made even more enjoyable with the cream teas on offer! Our regular outing in July was to the Green Man at Ringmer for lunch and then on to Raystede Animal Sanctuary.

Our visit in August was to Bewl Water. We had lunch once again but this time we a wonderful view of the lake.
