Sponsored Walk
East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA) Chief Executive undertook a 70 mile sponsored walk across the county.
East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA) is 70 years old this year. To celebrate this milestone ESDA's Chief Executive Officer walked 70 miles across the county during the week of the 14th to the 17th July 2008. He was joined by disabled people and supporters of ESDA for different parts of this walk and invited members of the public to get sponsorship and join him for parts of this walk.
A trophy was given to the individual and Team that raised the most sponsorship. Please contact Reg at reg.mclaughlin@esda.org.uk if you wish to make a donation.
Disabled people and members of the public joined Reg and his supporters on:
Monday at midday at Holywell Café, Eastbourne seafront for a short walk to the Eastbourne pier.
On Monday at 2pm at Berwick station for a walk around the Arlington Reservoir with at the end of the walk a tea with Lady Lloyd of Berwick, the President of ESDA.
On Wednesday at 2pm at the Richmond Road end of Bexhill seafront, for a short seafront walk.
On Thursday at 10am for the walk from Battle to Pevensey (15 to 18 miles) we started at the Abbey in Battle at 10am.
On Friday at 10am starting from the Anchor Inn, Church St, Hartfield for the Forest Row walk. Lunch was provided.
On Saturday at 10am for the walk down the Cuckoo Trail from Heathfield to Hailsham. This started in Heathfield finishing at Hailsham Grange in Hailsham. Lunch was provided.
